Radiographs (X-Rays)

We offer radiographs (X-rays) to provide detailed images of your pet’s internal structures. This diagnostic tool is essential for visualizing bones, organs, and other tissues to detect abnormalities, assess injury or disease, and guide treatment decisions.

Radiographs can be scheduled at any time, but we recommend morning appointments for potential follow-up treatments. For optimal results, pets should be fasted for 12 hours prior, and while sedation may be needed, we aim to minimize it when possible.

What Radiographs Can Detect:

  • Arthritis: Joint changes and degenerative conditions.
  • Foreign Bodies: Objects ingested or lodged inside the body.
  • Fluid Accumulation: Presence of fluid in body cavities.
  • Fractures: Bone injuries and fractures.
  • Lung Conditions: Issues such as pneumonia or tumors.
  • Organ Enlargement: Changes in the size of organs.
  • Tumors: Abnormal masses or growths.

Reasons to Recommend Radiographs:

  • Abdominal Issues: For persistent vomiting, diarrhea, or distention.
  • Chronic Cough or Difficulty Breathing: To evaluate lung and heart conditions.
  • Suspicion of Foreign Bodies: To locate ingested or embedded objects.
  • Trauma: Assessment of injuries from accidents or falls.
  • Unexplained Pain or Lameness: To investigate underlying causes.
